Airtel introduces ‘Medical advice on phone’ called mediphone –a health care advice service on the mobile phone. Airtel aims to provide best-in-class tele-triage services to its customer by leveraging cellular technology and providing a convenient platform to the healthcare ecosystem to deliver quality healthcare services. Mediphone, is a 24X7 "Medical advice on phone" service which empowers you to consult a doctor over the phone no matter where you are. Mediphone provides immediate care for Non Acute Minor Ailments with appropriate advice. airtel has formed a strategic alliance with Healthfore (a division of Religare Technologies Ltd.) to provide the Mediphone services. What is Triage ?

Triage is a process of determining the priority of patient’s treatment based on the severity of their condition. Tele triage is a safe and effective way of providing health care advice delivered by health care professionals via the telephone.
To access this service the customer simply has to call 54445 from your mobile phone and the call is answered by a Healthfore’s Health officer (HO) who is a trained and accredited Nurse or a Doctor. In case of a first time caller, the HO registers the caller, capture the clinical history and other relevant information using decision support solution. The caller is provided with an appropriate care advice and recommendation through SMS. All the cases are reviewed by Medical officer, who is MBBS or MD before care recommendations are sent out. All the doctors are accredited with Medical Council of India or equivalent State Medical Councils.
Customers will be charged Rs. 35 per call/consultation but as a special Introductory offer till 2nd January 2012, customers needs to pay only 15 per call/consultation. Limited period promotional offer! Tele-consultation at Rs.15/call. Valid from 17-Nov-11 to 02-Jan-12.
